Theme for Human Rights Day 2013 is “20 YEARS: WORKING FOR YOUR RIGHTS”
Human rights day 2013 is of special significance in this anniversary year.  The day celebrated the 20th anniversary of the creation of the UN Human rights office.  It was also dedicated to the efforts of human rights defenders, civil society actors and staff around the world who work to fulfill the ideals of the Universal Declaration of Human rights.

Human rights day celebrated  every year on  10th December. Human rights day celebrated in all regions of the world.  December 10th 1948 is one of the most important date in the history , from the perspective of protecting human rights Human rights day is an occasion for the people world wide to be aware of the rights  and duties of a human being that has been universally declared in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly of Human Rights Organizations. The Universal declaration of Human rights was adopted on 10th December 1948. Now 10th December 2013 is marked as the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declarations of Human rights. On 10th December 2013 we celebrate Human Rights Day to remember the creation of the Universal Declaration  of Human Rights 65 years ago. The Declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in1948, consists of a preamble and 30 articles, setting out a broad range of fundamental human rights and  freedom to which all men and women, everywhere in the world, are entitled, without any distinction. The UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which has become a universal standard for the promotion and protection of human rights worldwide. The Declaration has been translated into more than 360 languages.

‘‘Human Right’ means right to life, liberty, equality and the dignity of an individual irrespective  of caste,  creed or sex.
